While Airbus is busy testing their A380, Boeing is currently in the designing phase of both the 747-8 "Intercontinental" and "Freighter" versions. Eventually the aircraft shoudl meet requirements for a passenger airplane that can serve the 400- to 500-seat market that lies between the A380 and the Boeing 777-300ER.
