The Boeing 787 was launched in April 2004 as a futuristic design with an ultra low fuel burn and some awesome visual characteristics. By now the overall look of the aircraft has changed but has, as we espect from the Boeing Co, some state-of-the art features. First of all, as much as 50 % of the aircraft's primary structure will be made of composite materials. Thereby, the 787 will have windows that are 65% larger than those used on aircraft today and have an electric blind mode. Since its launch in 2004 a totall of 30 customers showed interest in the aircraft and by now over 400 are ordered.
The A350 already has been revamped the A350XWB. Airbus has to do this since the original aircraft could not comply with the demands set by potential customers. Stay tuned as we'll get back on this aircraft in the future.
