The Boeing 787 was launched as a responds to overwhelming demand by numerous of airlines. In total 3 versions will be launced intially with a stretched version still under consideration. The aircraft is specifically designed for mid to long range flights carrying up to 330 passengers. Major improvements comprizes high fuel efficiency and increased passenger comfort. The aircraft is said to be superefficient and developed by an international team of top aerospace companies. New technologies developed by Boeing and its partners are the key to exceptional aircraft performance. Besides the use of newly designed GEnx bleedless engines the aircraft will be made of composite materials for as much as 50 percent.
The Dreamliner sale program was launched in late 2003 with the program launch following a year later after a record order from All-Nippon Airways. Since that time,over 400 aircraft have been ordered and makes this the most succesful launch of any commercial airplane in the Boeing history.
